Day 4 Flight into Lukla

GOT UP EARLY IE 4AM FOR THE 1ST FLIGHT OUT OUT to Lukla on a crop type spraying plane and I was 1st into the front seat behind the captain. The captain was the twin of the ex brit boxer John Conteh. Got a cracking video of us comming into land on the mountain side with them screaming behind me. Met our lead sherpa Nimo who has summited Everest and he knows ber grylls as gylls mam and dad for some bizarre reason live in kathmandu so he is up in the himalayas a lot by all accounts. Kipped at some place called Monjo. The people here perform super human feats of human endurance.
They carry all sorts up thousands of feet on there backs and the weights are astounding. Some blokes were carrying 10 scaffold boards plus other long lengths of timber on their backs only tied on with rope and have nothing more on their feet than flip flops or sandals and they carry get this 120kg and there is 2.2lb to each kg. They carry it over rope bridges walking sidewards over huge ravines with rush waters below and up to everest base camp because the chopper is broke. All food and everything else comes up on there backs with weights of 90 kg the average. The timber boys are the highest earners getting the equiv of get this 9quid for one trip upto everest base camp and back down a trip of 10000ft and out of that they have to pay for there digs. Ive videoed them so you can see for yourselves. Just awe inspiring as they are smaller and skinnier than even me.
